Film Study Group
Co-ordinator — Kim Hathrell
When: Second Wednesday of each month, 1:45 for 2:00 pm start. Where: The Westlake Room, Balsall Common Village Hall, Station Road. Cost: £2.50 per member per film.
We are showing a wide variety of films projected onto the large screen in the Westlake room at the Village Hall, new members are always welcome to this friendly group; there is no need to commit to every meeting, if you would like to see the film — just let the co-ordinator know and turn up!
Our showings start at 2:00pm and will have a short discussion about the film after the showing, covering its aesthetics (look), topicality (to the time it was made), acting and directing (and whether it was any good). There is a charge of £2.50 per member per film, covering the cost of the films and the room hire.
The Film Study Group is open to all u3a members, there is no specific group membership. Non-u3a members will not be admitted to this group. It should be noted that this is a film study and discussion group, NOT a cinema group.The Westlake Room is limited in size, so I would ask that you confirm your attendance via an email to the co-ordinator or text to 07510 725607

Suggestions for films to screen are very welcome — they must be available on DVD or Bluray — please contact the co-ordinator with ideas.
An email will be issued about 1 week in advance of the screening to confirm the film and request confirmation of attendance.
